No HP devices Detected, Solution Center will close now. error Message when opening solution center.

XP and Vista

Specifically For Hp all in ones..

well here is some ways you can fix this particular issue..

i had a exact same problem with my Photosmart C6180 a couple of days back well here is how i resolved the issue.

first of all..

STEP 1

you will need to uninstall the complete software from the computer.
so you can either ...
1. insert the software disk and click on Uninstall on the autorun window

or download the drivers from www.hp.com/support

and then choose uninstall from the install screen.

you can also remove the listing from the add and remove programs

note : do check if there are 2 set of similar driver but different verion, you do get that sometimes

this will remove the entire application from your computer but not all of it....

Step 2

to do complete installation you will have to follow some of these steps.

for people who installed from the cd
browse on to the cd to this particular location i

location : util \ccc \ level2.bat

this ccc folder contains some major fixes for your all in one.

now in this folder you will find some BAT files
like
uninstallation L1.bat

or

L2_uninstallation

you will have a complete of L1, L2, L3, L4 complex uninstallation.

now if you have an HP computer please do not try an L4 uninstallation. as it will clear everything which says HP.

now out of these files you will require L2 and L3. these are the uninstallation that are gonna help us.

first run the L2 uninstallation.bat file

and then check the registry to see if all the Vid&Pid keys for the hp printer are gone.
start-> run-> regedit

you will find them under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Usb

when you select this location you will find keys which will have these sets of alphanumeric codes on them i.e. vid_03f.

when you select these keys you will find that on the right hand side you have an hp product listed out.'

these are the keys that are causing that particular error message.
you will need to delete them
now a level 2 uninstallation is designed to do exactly that it self..
so just double check if those keys are present or not.

and then reinstall using the latest drivers and check if the issue is resolved,

there are some more steps that we could try.. but i am tired of typing for now.. so lets see if this work or not
other wise lets try something else...

Cheers
